Malena is a student at BG 13 Fichtnergasse in Vienna, Austria. She started 1000 For Yemen in the summer of 2020 in an effort to educate about and aid the ongoing crisis. She has also fundraised for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as part of a Student of the Year team, interns at a private practice in Vienna, tutors English to underprivileged children, and is planning to work at an Alzheimer’s research laboratory at Columbia University this summer.
Karoline is a Junior at BG 13 Fichtnergasse in Vienna, Austria and joined 1000 For Yemen in 2021 as the Director of Technology. Last year, she attended OKM in Kelowna, British Columbia and she is passionate about aerospace, math, non-fiction, and writing online.
Arjita is a Junior at QHSS and joined the initiative in 2021 as the Director of Social Media. She founded QHSS Taalam, a South Asian Dance and Cultural Appreciation Club, is heavily involved in Student Government, and trains for competitive dance.
Juwaria is a Sophomore at QHSS in New York and she joined the team in 2021 as a part of the Outreach team. She creates art, mostly Arabic calligraphy, and sells it online. She also likes to participate in park clean-ups, nature restoration events and loves to both read and write poetry.
Shweta is a Junior at Elgin High School in Elgin, Illinois. She joined 1000 For Yemen as a part of the Social Media team in 2021. She enjoys playing tennis, annoying her cat Leone, and listening to both Frank Ocean and Ariana Grande. She’s a part of Best Buddies, Mathletes, and Model UN and is a social media marketer for STEM-E.
Laila is a Junior at Manhattan Village Academy and she joined the Social Media Team in 2021. She loves to bake and watch true crime documentaries on Netflix. She has danced ballet for 12 years and plays the clarinet. She loves iced coffee and is notorious for constantly changing her hair.
Prarthana Rawal is a junior at Elign High School. She enjoys reading, long walks, and playing the piano. She participates in theatre and is also in HOSA. Prarthana joined to assume a more active role in aiding conflicts instead of activism pertaining to solely social media. She looks forward to aiding in fundraising and extending further education on the crisis others.
SoungYoun joined the 1000 for Yemen team as a member of the technology department after Anya reached out to them! They hope to raise awareness and help those living in Yemen through joining this organization. SoungYoun is currently a junior at QHSS and are part of sigma sorority. In their free time, SoungYoun likes reading comics and drawing
Sarah is a Sophomore at Townsend Harris High School in New York and she joined the team in 2021 as a part of the Outreach Team. She enjoys expressing herself through drawing fashion and poetry and likes weightlifting and biking. She is part of the MSA, women in business, the Phoenix Magazine and the do.something club at her school.
Michael is a Junior at The High School of Fashion Industries in New York City and he joined the team in 2021 as part of the Projects and Events team.
He was a part of a bowling team for a while, and his hobbies include reading comics, hiking with his dog and doodling building designs.
